Gimli Glider – February 16, 2021

The Phonetic Alphabet is used to ensure that radio communications are clear.  In the case of an Air Canada flight that had to do an emergency landing in Gimli, Manitoba, this communication was key.  For next week, I would like you to research the story of the “Gimli Glider” and be prepared to present one unique fact about the story during next week’s virtual meeting.  As I want each cadet to have a unique fact, you may wish to write down several in case another cadet shares your fact first – so, you need to have some backups!  During your research you may also discover that there is a link between the Air Cadet Program and the Gimli Glider!  I look forward to hearing about your findings.
